Work Preparation program

The Real World Living Work preparation program has been designed to provide   education, practical training and strategy practice to establish the basic work ethics, habits and skills we all need to prepare for voluntary or paid employment. This program’s focus is on development of the pre-requisites required for more formal training or Employment assistance and does not guarantee work placement. We do however work closely with other agencies whose focus is work placement and will refer suitable people onto these services.

These activities and/or experiences can be undertaken on an individual basis or as part of a group.

This program can be accessed as single sessions or included as part of an holistic and client centred Life Activity Plan.

Program content

  1. Establishment of work ethics and habits
  2. Training to acquire work skills in the administration, hospitality, animal husbandry, agriculture, horticulture, Support Work and trade areas.
  3. Health and Safety training
  4. Work Experience placements
  5. Volunteer placements

This program may be funded through our contracts with ACC and the Ministry of Social Development (subject to certain criteria) or may be paid privately by a per session rate.
